This is a major infrastructure project undertaken by NYCDDC. The project upgrades the trunk water main and distribution systems by adding redundancy to the city network while reinforcing the transmission (high pressure) lines connecting points from Flushing to Bayside. The upgrades to the water distribution system replace aging pipes installed between 1912 and 1940.
